![]() We've gotten so good at multitasking, doing multiple things at once. The only trouble is that most of us can't do this well. Like Cat in the Hat... we do need to stick to Thing One and not worry so much about Thing Two :-) Paul knew this. He said in Philippians 3 that his goal was just to do one thing but do it well. He wanted to know Jesus and grab hold of the purpose or reason God had him on earth. Wow! If we could simply live our lives in such a way as to make much of Jesus! For others to see the real Jesus through our words and actions. How might we do this? One way is simply invite Him into your day each morning as you rise. Ask God to make you aware of opportunities for your light to shine. Two, is there a pain from your past that you now need to let go? Has someone hurt you and it still lingers? It may be time to forgive. See You Sunday Pastor Mike PS - Do you like Pancakes? Bacon? Worship? Come on this Sunday Feb 23 at 9:15 am. "Endless Love" - The Power of One (Week 7) - Sunday Message - 2/16/25 - Pastor Mike Warman2/19/2025 ![]() I've heard it said in some places shepherds mark their flocks with spray paint so they can readily tell them apart when the herds mix. One rancher went so far as to dye the wool of their flock pink so that they really stood out from the rest. Which begs a question... as we consider the Power of Being 1- what sets you apart from the rest? John the Apostle said the most telling characteristic for Christians should be our Love for Others. Consider the verse for this week (actually go ahead and memorize it). Since God has SO loved you, you also ought to LOVE OTHERS. Pretty straight forward. Seems simple but oh so hard to pull off right? The way a fish ought to swim in water or a bird fly through the air or lemons ought to be sour or trumpets meant to sound, you and I as followers of Jesus are to love. Love means to want the best for others and then to act when it's within my power to do so. Love Does. This is how we know that God loves us, John says, in that Jesus came for us and offered Himself a sacrifice for our sin (I John 4:9-10). Valentines Day is Friday. People will express their love for others through BOTH words and actions. Who needs to know you care this week? Who can you show love to by slowing down to listen? Who in your world needs to know you believe in them? It's been said there are only two types of people in the world... Those who enter a room and say "Here I am!". vs those who say "There you are." There are those who want to be served and those who look to serve. Those who say "Let me tell you a little about who I am" vs those who say "Tell me a little about yourself". Brothers & Sisters, Jesus calls us to Love Others. This is what will set us apart! See You Sunday, Pastor Mike PS- Do you like Pancakes? Bacon? Worship? Join us on Sunday Feb 23 at 9:15 am. "The Power of Words" - The Power of One (Week 6) - Sunday Message - 2/9/25 - Pastor Mike Warman2/13/2025 ![]() I was reading this week about the cause of the wildfires out in CA. One of the things they are looking at is fireworks being shot off that landed in the dry hiking trails that then ignited. Jesus' brother James once compared an unruly mouth with a destructive fire. Some 29 people have died and millions of dollars in damages, due to an out of control fire. The Bible talks a lot about the power of our words. Our speech. Jesus said it was out of the heart that evil springs forth into our words. Solomon said that one our Super Powers is to use our words for good. We have through our words the ability to give people HOPE. To ENCOURAGE them to do good. To follow Jesus. But how might we do this? *OK kind of simple, but remember what momma taught you, if you don't have anything nice to say, then keep your mouth closed. *Look for ways in each conversation to say something positive to the person you're speaking with. A compliment. A word that blesses or encourages them. Someone has said they can live two weeks on a genuine positive comment. *Send a note a week to someone. Make a phone call just to check in on someone. Look for ways to remind people that Jesus is with them. We have an awesome woman in our church family who i know sends out notes to others probably once a week. *If you're a teacher in a class send out a note to a student once a week. Death & Life ... you hold that much power, in each & every interaction with others. Let's speak life friends!
