![]() Did you have a hero as a kid? Was there anyone you looked up to? Super Hero movies have become all the big deal. I ponder why? Is it we wish we knew them? Were them? Super human powers or abilities... Don't you wish sometimes you could just "fly" away or read someone's mind??? Always ready to help when a crisis hits? Who is a hero? Well the dictionary definition says things like "a person of noble character, who comes to the aid of others." Sounds about right... While we might think of others who might fit that description, do we ever consider we might be a hero to someone else? What is it heroes do? I'm not talking the made up one's, but rather the flesh and blood ones we know. That by God's grace we may yet be? Heroes give people hope. They inspire us to do & be better people. Heroes challenge us. They are there when we need help. Some heroes know just what to say when we need advice. Heroes lead the way, by their life they set the pace and lead by example. Heroes reduce or eliminate threats or obstacles. Heroes provide us "light" when we find ourselves in a "dark place". Over the next few weeks we're going to look at some real life people who didn't set out to be a Hero. They were just living their life, but then a need arose and God "tapped" them on the shoulder, and the rest is, as they say, His Story. God most likely uses ordinary people like you to do His most extra ordinary work. Be God's Hero to someone today! See You Sunday, Pastor Mike |
