Do you have enough power?

How much strength do you need?? Probably depends on the task at hand. I just bought some 40 volt power tools this past week. I had choices and ended up going with the tools that had more "power" so they could help me get the job done.

Couldn't we all use just a little more POWER in our lives!

Power to do the hard thing rather than the easy way out. Power to forgive. Maybe you need the strength to hold on one more day? Or patience with a co-worker? Maybe it's time to share your faith story with others, but you don't quite have the strength yet to do so?

When most people consider Samson they think of his power & strength. (see his story in Judges 13-16) If you recall, the secret to his incredible power was that he had never had a hair cut. He was dedicated to God from birth and the evidence of that was his long flowing hair.

BUT- it really wasn't his hair. The story reminds us on different occasions that the Spirit of the Lord came upon him in POWER. The Lord working in Him and through Him gave him strength.

Friend, I want to remind you today of these precious truths:

• 1 John 4:4 "Greater is the Spirit of God in you than the one in the world"
• Paul wrote to Timothy that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but rather one of Love, POWER and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7
• The Psalmist said, "My body and my heart grow weak, but God is my strength" (Psalm 73:26
• Isaiah 40 reminds us that God gives strength to the weary and increases the POWER of the weak. (Is. 40:29)
• Paul said he could do the things that God asks according to the strength that the Lord gives. Phil. 4:13
• Finally in Ephesians 3:20 Paul sums up with a doxology of praise, "Now to the Lord who is able to do immeasurably more than we could ask or imagine, according this His GREAT POWER at work within us"

What is the Lord asking of you? Know for a fact that the one who calls you is able to give you the strength you need!
