How one guy earned our car business!

 We finally bought a car last week from Chuck. We spent a lot of time with a few dealerships and finally Chuck earned our business. But what separated him from the rest? In short, it was his work ethic. His attitude. See Chuck is a Ford salesman, but offered to meet us at the Honda dealership. When we arrived he had two vehicles we asked about opened up and ready for us test drive. When i inquired about a totally different model, he had it pulled around inviting us to take a look inside.

He did everything he could to earn my business. He listened to what we needed. Asked questions for clarification. When to bat for us to get us a better price than what I was willing to pay.

This week we'll launch a new series called Win the Day. All across our area, state & nation teams have been at practice in preparation to Win their Day. Softball, Football, Soccer, Cheer, Debate teams. People in new jobs. All wanting to Win their Day.

What can you and I do to Win at Work? Here's a couple thoughts:

1. Be dependable, consistent. Do what you're supposed to do when it's supposed to be done. Being trustworthy speaks volumes about your character. Do what you say you'll do by the date you said you'd do it!
2. Be respectful of others. No business wants gossipers or busybodies. If it's not your business, don't be passing along your tidbit of knowledge. Keep your opinions to yourself unless your first asked. No one appreciates a "know it all".
3. Be emotionally mature. Save your blow ups for trusted a confidant. Look & read people. If you need help in this area there are ways you can grow.
4. Be helpful to your teammates. Be a team player in the sense that you're willing to go above & beyond your job to help those around you.

Whatever we find ourselves doing, let us work as though Jesus is our boss. Because technically He is. If we are to work to make Him proud of the job we're doing, we'll be far ahead of most people.
