The Scariest Words Known to Man?

You know the most frightening words known to man? "Some assembly required." Yikes!

But on a serious note, fear is real. As we approach Halloween next week there's a lot of scary costumes out there. There's scary music. And then the stuff of life scares us. Is there anything that scares you?

Some of the top fears people have... Fear of public speaking. spiders & snakes. Fear of heights. I have a good friend that is afraid of needles. You know what else is scares people? That we can't trust people in government. That we or someone we love would get caught up in a mass shooting. That we'd get very sick and not be able to pay our medical bills. All very real concerns.

One day some of Jesus friends got caught in a bad spot. It scared them a lot. You can read it for yourself here. After getting Jesus to help, he then asked them an honest question. He asked them why they were so afraid? Didn't they trust Him?

May I offer you a couple things to consider if there is a specific thing you're dealing with?

*Remember that Jesus is with you. Isaiah 41:10 promises us that God is with us, so we do not have to live in fear. In fact in this verse the Lord makes the following promises to those who belong to Him.

• He is with us
• He is our God, like a father who looks after his children
• He promises to give us the strength to meet our need
• He promises to help us through the situation
• He promises to hang on to me no matter what

I don't know who will be reading this that needs to be reminded of this awesome truth. Jesus said, Do not let your hearts be afraid, you believe in God the Father, believe also in Me. He is for you.

Let go of what scares you as you trust in the arms of Jesus who carries you along!
