Did you know the original name for DUCT TAPE was DUCK TAPE? Invented by a mom in early 1940's to seal boxes of ammo sent to those fighting in the war. Primarily because it resisted water. Ammo boxes being sent overseas were opening due to the moisture & it was creating huge problems. Today there is enough duct tape sold every year to wrap the planet 12 x. That's a lot of tape. You can buy it in almost any color. Duct tape has been used to fix things everywhere from a space ship to submarines. Dads are like Duct Tape. They can fix things. The good ones help their families & kids stick together. They last. They are tough yet flexible. Duct Tape Dads connect their families to Jesus. When Paul wanted to encourage a new group of Believers he called to mind the image of a Faithful Father. One who challenged them to walk with Jesus. Who modeled or showed them the way. Who cheered them along! Who protected them. Sunday we're going to honor the men who have and do take their roles & responsibilities seriously. Everyone of us has a father. We're all a product of his influence in our home. You have the potential to be an influence for Jesus today. We've some special things planned Sunday. Gift cards to give away. Donuts to be eaten. A special video honoring our dads. I hope you'll be here to honor those special men called Dad! See you this Sunday! Pastor Mike
