What Could Happen if God were to Bless Your Life?

Do you want God's Blessing on your Life? What would it look like? How can we know if He is blessing us or not? Over the past 3 weeks we've seen various ways in which the Lord Jesus does intend for us to know His favor. He does this by being for us and not against us. By loving us & forgiving us when we seek Him. He provides for us physically, materially & spiritually. He brings people in our lives who want the best for us.

But let's pause and ask Why does the Lord do these things? Do you want God's blessing and if so why do you want it? Most us might say we want to experience God's hand on us so our lives might be more pleasant & comfortable. And that's not necessarily wrong. But what if God's purpose for bringing blessings into your life went deeper?

Psalm 67:1-2 reminds us that the Lord's greater purpose for blessing us is so that we in turn might be a blessing to those around us. He desires to bless our lives so we in turn might point others to Jesus.

What are some ways we might be a blessing or encouragement to others? Here are 10 ways:

• If it's someone new to you, use their name when you speak to them
• Be gracious in your speech, use less curse words
• Practice kindness. Open doors. Show strength by being patient rather than rude
• Tell the truth in a culture that currently values lies and falsehoods
• Make people feel welcome in your presence rather than feel like they're bothering you
• Forgive
• Ask people questions. In a self centered world, draw people out
• Ask others how you might pray for them. Offer to pray for them right there on the spot
• Share with others why your trust is in Jesus Christ
• Invite others to sit with you at church. To join you for Christmas Eve Service.
