338... That's the average number of friends a typical facebook user has. That seems like a lot. Other data suggests the "real" number of friends we have varies from between 3 to 8. How about you? How many friends would you say you have? People you feel free to call up when you have a difficulty? People you would invite to do something with you on the spur of the moment? Solomon wrote a lot about friends, about people both good and bad in the book of Proverbs. On Sunday we're going to look answer the question, Being the Friend a Friend would like to have. Yep I'm borrowing it from the line in Tim McGraws song Live Like You Were Dying. While on the topic here's a couple things you aren't looking for in a friend: The person who lacks common sense Proverbs 27:14 Whoever blesses his neighbor with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, will be counted as cursing. That guy or gal who is always complaining and never happy; consistently has a negative attitude Solomon says avoid that person at all costs. The one who Walks with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm. 1 Cor. 15:33 reminds us that hanging with the wrong people will destroy who you are as a person. Our friends, or lack thereof, says a lot about who we are and who we will become. I hope you're able to join us either in person or on our facebook live feed beginning at 9:33am. See Ya Sunday Friend Pastor Mike PS- It's generally true that if you ask a friend to join you for worship they'll be happy to be with you. Try it this week!
